December.. In Colors!
On the first Saturday of the month of December 2012, 5
members of the youth group “I Leaf Art” worked, on the redecoration and
rehabilitation of the activities room for the Guidance Committee at the
Jerusalem School for Boys - UNRWA at Burj-Al-Barajneh. With full passion, a
limited budget and the involvement of few school students, the group worked all
morning to turn the activities room into a more friendly and soothing
environment.
The committee hopes that the redecoration of the room and the
improvement of its appearance will contribute in soothing the students,
reducing their anger and rebellion feelings and facilitate the follow-up that
takes place all year long, during school days. From their side, the members of
the youth group “I Leaf Art” believed that involving some of the students in
the redecoration activity will help them feeling as a part of the change
progress; as if they were partners in change and not just receivers on the
other end.
The activities room is used thorough-out the year to look
into the students who suffer from various problems on academic, behavioral,
emotional, health, familial and economical levels; and its redecoration comes
as a part of the committee’s plan in improving the school’s situation and
inducing better follow-up with the students. In fact, many of the school
students’ sufferings reflect on their mental focus in classes and their
motivation towards studies. Also, it increases chaos, violence and physical and
linguistic aggression between them, without forgetting the lowering of their
self-esteem.
During the 2012-2013 school year, the committee will follow
on collective and individual counseling in the remodeled room, hoping the new
look will reflect positively on the students -hearts and souls- allowing a
positive change in their behavior.

قامت المجموعة الشبابيّة ( آي ليف آرت ) بإعادة تأهيل غرفة الانشطة الخاصة بـ لجنة التوجيه والإرشاد في مدرسة القدس المتوسّطة للبنين – برج البراجنة وذلك ظهر نهار السبت الماضي الواقع في 1 كانون الثاني 2012.
النشاط أتى ضمن خطّة اللجنة للعام الدراسي الحالي 2012 – 2013 لتحسين واقع المدرسة لاسيما أنّ تلاميذها يعانون من مشاكل أكاديميّة وسلوكيّة وإنفعاليّة وصحيّة واسريّة وإقتصاديّة عدّة أهمها ضعف التركيز الذهني والدافعيّة للدراسة وإثارة الفوضى والعنف والعدوانيّة عدا عن تبادل الشتائم بالإضافة إلى تدني تقدير الذات.
إن تأهيل الغرفة وتحسين مظهرها يساهم في تهدئة نفوس الطلبة والتخفيف من حالة الغضب والتمرّد التي تتملكهم معظم أيّام الدراسة. علماً ان اللجنة ستتابع انشطة التوجيه الجمعي والإرشاد الفردي في الغرفة نفسها لكن هذا العام بحلّة جديدة عل ذلك ينعكس إيجاباً على نفوسهم وعقولهم ويلعب دورا فعالاً في تغيير سلوكياتهم نحو الأفضل.
المجموعة الشبابية التي تتكون من خمسة أشخاص من خلفيات عدّة نفذّت نشاطها خلال يوم عمل واحد ضمن ميزانيّة محدودة ساهم طلاب المدرسة في تكوينها، كما انها إستعانت بعدد من التلاميذ لتنفيذ نشاطها إيماناً منها بأنّهم جزء من العمليّة الإرشاديّة فهم شركاء وليس فقط متلقين.
